Mura, “small village” in Japanese, is a 190-unit urban infill condominium project on an entire block in the loft district of downtown Los Angeles. This six-story Type III complex, composed of traditional flats and townhouses, includes grade-level stoop units to engage the neighborhood and disguise the parking behind. This project also introduced the “soft loft,” a two-bedroom unit the size of a three-bedroom unit with an uncommonly large living-dining space, thus allowing the third bedroom to be enclosed if desired in the future.
